Today is the day! I’m so excited to introduce you all to IRIS.
As mentioned on the back of the book, I started this particular writing adventure with H.G. Wells’s THE TIME MACHINE, published in 1895. Wells coined the term "time machine" and, more generally, gets credit for popularizing the concept of time travel. Imagine creating an entire genre of storytelling. Pretty cool! When I rediscovered his famous book a few years back, I was also struck by its continued relevance, particularly in terms of income inequality. For a book that is 130 years old, that’s not too shabby. In my writing, I aspire to create similarly long-lasting narratives—stories that some person (or some alien or AI creature) picks up in 130 years (or even 30 years), reads (or otherwise experiences), and thinks, “Wow, that’s still relevant today.” In other words, as in the photo above, I hope IRIS casts a long shadow.
I’ve heard from a lot of you as this date crept closer. Thank you so much for your support!
Warmly,
Josh
Great image. Great vision and aspiration for you. Here's wishing many long shadows for Iris and it's creator, Josh.
Congratulations!
