Fog, Coffee, and First Copy

I’m ringing in the new year on this foggy Monday with black coffee and the first hard copy of EYES OF IRIS. It’s a proof copy, not quite perfect yet, but I must admit it feels so damn good to hold a physical manifestation of all the work that went into this one. I just scrolled to the bottom of my IRIS folder and found an initial story outline from July 2018. That’s like a million years ago.

After much back and forth, we decided to go with the red cover that features the multi-eyed Iris:

Thank you all for the feedback on the cover designs. We did a straw poll at my school, and the students also seemed to favor this one. Most importantly, I think the image and overall vibe best represent the story inside.

The publication date has been set for March 25.

I hope this finds you feeling optimistic for the year to come.
